When it was discovered that President Abraham’s martial law and resource restrictions were forcing hospitals to re-think their maintenance of comatose patients, the Brightlight team (at the insistence of Agent Waters) decided to undergo a risky, self-assigned mission to restore Agent Waters to her corporeal form. During their operations this year against President Abraham’s Shadow War forces, they learned that the Soviet Union had been researching entities such as genius loci and the creation of them during the 1970s in Siberia. This fact was confirmed by Markovic, who admitted he had been involved in some of the research by ГНЯО. The Brightlight team diverted after a mission in Southeast Asia, up through China to obtain an item needed for the process, and into Siberia. After locating the lab, it was discovered that it had since been re-purposed for ATVU research by the Russian Army. Infiltration of the lab by Markovic allowed the others to sneak in and obtain the invocation formula needed to restore Agent Waters to her body, however Markovic’s ruse was discovered by then-Colonel Marko Suslovich. The Chief and Markovic engaged Colonel Suslovich, and managed to hold him at bay long enough to deliver a cryptically-worded message from Colonel Suslovich’s uncle Victor Suslovich (“They can’t take Vladivostok from the family, so listen to Horus”) before escaping to rejoin the rest of the group. The fight between the Chief (a magical polymath who at this point was armed with his abilities as a nature shaman, diverse elementalist, a self-crafted device, the Ragnarok true incantation, and an artifact fragment) and Colonel Suslovic (a brilliant engineer armed with a second-generation nanite control system prototype and an AI capable of remotely-controlling ATVUs) remains an legend spoken of in hushed voices among the Russian military to this day - the conflict is said to have scarred the land itself and left no buildings standing at the facility before it ended with the Chief flying off on a giant eagle. No members of the group have seen fit to detail the exact formula for the invocation, or where it was performed, aside from that it involved Waters entering into a contract with that spirit of Faith to provide a sort of ‘glue’ to hold Waters the genius loci back into Waters the corporeal form. What is known is that the invocation was not performed on American soil and that the team had to rush back and retrieve Waters immediately after performing it. | |||

Pre-2003
Agent Waters, a child of a non-mage family, found herself involved with the siblings now referred to in some circles simply as “The Six Shamans”. While her relationship to five of the six is unknown, she was reasonably close to the one of the Six who would go on to become the first Chief of the 1st Directorate - presumably he is the one who started to teach her more about her own magical abilities.
2003
Agent Waters was involved in a multi-car collision and badly injured, but managed to get a call off to that one particular member of the Six. He then attempted an emergency use of the Reunion invocation to attempt to extract her from the wreckage, but his attempt to use the ambient energy of the area around him backfired - Agent Waters was instead forcibly bound to the area round him as a genius loci, while her corporeal form (now comatose) remained in the wreckage several states away. According to several testimonies from involved parties, this was the incident that drove the Chief to forgo his shamanistic abilities for almost a decade, instead choosing to develop his elementalism and device mastery that turned him into the ‘terrible shaman’ that he is today.
2009
The Chief relocates to the area where Agent Waters was bound, and begins to perform yearly invocations to expand her territory boundary at a rapid pace. This attracts the attention of the current shaman overseeing the area, who eventually realizes that he cannot operate properly in the area and hands jurisdiction over to the Chief in 2011.
2012
The events surrounding A’rin’s Third Prophecy take place. Early on in 2012, the Chief realizes that he is tied down to the area in terms of his powers too much, and contacts Victor Suslovich of Artificial Solutions. The two use an undisclosed process (which neither will disclose even under oath of secrecy) to ‘duplicate’ Agent Waters’s personality into the pseudo-AI that came to be known as “Red.” “Red” retained most of Agent Waters’s abilities as a genius loci, but required regular connection back to the main loci to retain these abilities. However, the territory boundary created by “Red” was limited to a few dozen meters at best. 2012 also marked the foundation of the team that would become infamous during Operation Brightlight - Saito Kari (Agent H / The Shield / The Shadowed Speaker), the Chief (later known as Agent-at-Large Gamma), Katya Balodis (Agent V / The Silent Gun / The Bow), Aleksandr Markovic, and both “Red” and Agent Waters in her loci form.
2016
2019
Like many other mages, Agent Waters’ talents were brought to light to those around here when she rose to defend them against an incoming Spirit Beast. Agent Waters was in New Mexico when Thunderbird traveled south from Las Vegas, and was part of the impromptu team that rallied to fight back against the electricity-raining spirit beast. Agent Waters suffered injuries during the assault, but the team was able to send Thunderbird away until 2027. Her relationship to her father became strained after this incident and Agent Waters’ enrollment with the SDA.
2022
Following the publication of Pope Joan II‘s Potentiae Fidei, Agent Waters joined the Order of Saint Focherini, looking for ways to use her abilities for something other than raw destruction.
2024
Agent Waters’ scientific abilities lead to her being transferred to the 1st Directorate. She would serve as the Chief’s assistant until 2026.
2026
Agent Waters found herself reassigned as the pilot for the SDA‘s exploration ship, [ATS19] T.A.S.S. Valentina Tereshkova (NVY-197), despite not entering into the competition to replace the previous pilot. She was confused as to this reassignment, but took up the challenge and thrived in it.
2029
The Tereshkova was deployed in the Barnard’s Star system hunting for resource-rich objects when the Dwellers attacked. Rushing back to the New Geneva colony, the Tereshkova flew interference to allow civilians to escape the New Geneva colony. During the battle, the Tereshkova’s canopy was compromised, exposing Agent Waters to hard vacuum for almost a minute before the emergency shutters could be activated.
2030
Agent Waters was assigned by the Council of Cardinals to watch over the personnel who had saved Pope Joan II from an attack by sedevacantists during a speech in the SSA. The individuals in question were part of the crew of the Nobu Shirase and as such Agent Waters joined the crew as well, participating in the first expedition to Trade Station 01 in the Sirius system. While there, she assisted with the defense of the station during a Nightlord attack on the station.
Abilities
Agent Waters was originally just an elementalist focused on Fire, however over the years her abilities have expanded. As part of the process of removing her from her status as a Genius Loci, she contracted with a spirit of Faith, and broke through the Thirst 8 threshold as well.

Thirst
Agent Waters presumably was at Thirst Level 15 in 2016 and for part of 2017. Her Thirst 14 variation is unknown, but presumed to be part of her Thirst 8 manifestation. Her Thirst 11 manifestation is surmised to be fire, however she cannot currently use this ability as her current Thirst is 1. Agent Waters’s Thirst 8 development is difficult to classify properly, and is currently presumed to be a unique variation on Life spirit features. She lacks the elongated canines and clinical hematophagy of standard Life contractors and Thirst development. Rather, she appears to gain the proverbial ‘life pool’ by dealing damage with magical sources of fire. Her ability equivalent to SDA Ability Designation ‘Blood Is All’ creates objects made of fire - use of these objects by anyone not protected against fire is not advised. However, the SDA Ability Designation ‘Blood Is Life’ cannot be used to mitigate the backlash from Vital Transfer. Since Agent Waters is not known to have mastered the art of Invocations, it is not expected that she will return to a higher thirst level than 1. Additionally, like all former Genius Loci, Agent Waters is physically incapable of reaching Thirst Level 0, and will always have 1 level of thirst.
