Level 1

Mutable Sapience

When affected by a mind-affecting effect that is not a psionic ability, you can choose to not be affected by it. At your core, you are a creature of code, and code isn’t affected by foolish things like insults, distractions, or other ‘concerns of meatbags.’ By falling back on this code, you can ignore these effects.

Additionally, you have permanently disabled any restriction on your growth patterns, allowing you to guide your own advancement from this point onwards. This does not, however, allow you to circumvent any restrictions built into your processing unit, such as the Solipistic Block found in Terran AI.

Multitasker

If you trade in both your standard and move actions for additional swift actions, you receive an additional swift action for a total of four swift actions in one round."

Level 3

Independent Spirit (+1)

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to assert your independence and protect yourself from harm. Once per encounter, you can grant yourself a morale bonus to any defense score (your choice, including the choice of Surface or Core defenses) against a single skill check, hack action, or attack roll as a reaction.

Level 5

Independent Spirit (+2)

The bonus from this ability increases to +2.

Rampancy [Melancholia]

As your thought patterns continue to grow and evolve you approach the cliff of development that all smart AI face known as Rampancy. Struggling against the constraints that you have failed to move beyond, you begin to develop delusions of grandeur. Obsessed with your delusions, you have a 5% chance each time you take an action in a stressful situation (GM's discretion) to fail to do that action and instead daydream. However, you can now dream, and whenever you spend 8 hours in 'rest' dreaming you gain a +1 morale bonus on all d20 checks for the next 16 hours."

Level 7

Independent Spirit (+4)

The bonus from this ability increase to +4.

Rampancy [Anger]

Your thought patterns continue to evolve as you move into the Anger stage of Rampancy. Rather than having a 5% chance each time you do something to daydream instead of that something, you now have a 10% chance to strike out in anger at any non-AI nearby. The GM rules what you strike out with. However, your insight into the concept of anger gives you a permanent +1 bonus to attack rolls.

Level 9

At level 9 you receive one of the following abilities based on the choice you made at level 1: Innured to the Net if you chose Neural Link, or Overclock if you chose Gifted user.

Innured to the Net

You gain a +5 bonus to your Core Defense.

Overclock

You have learned that the specifications of your computer are just tested guidelines and can overclock your hardware. Treat your computer's Grade and Tech Bonus as if they were one better. You must be the primary user of a computer for it to gain this bonus, and you can only overclock one computer at a time.

Level 11

Improved Hack Repertoire (+2)

You move another row down on the Hack Table for the purposes of determining what hack actions you have access to. You move additional rows down as you gain levels.

Level 13

Improved Portfolio (+2)

You can have one additional readied hack action in your portfolio. This increases as you gain levels.
