Formed as an alternative to older, Earth-based magic groups, ECO was based on a growing desire for independence from the control and mistakes of Earth. The two primary aims of ECO are to promote the welfare of mages and psions, and to advance the cause of the independence movements that led to the formation of the Independent Lunar Colonial Organization and the United Martian Colonies, as well as to ensure the continued independence of those entities following the war. Members are drawn primarily from the inhabitants of Luna, Mars and Alpha Prime. The majority of members are Lunar and Martian-born mages, although some prefer to find less political entities to associate with. ECO, naturally, is a target for anti-mage/psionic groups, as well as Earth-based organizations who wish to control off-world colonies and projects. During the Belt Rebellion, ECO spoke out against the violence, but was sympathetic to the plight of the miners, and heavily criticized the Earth-based corporations and PMCs involved.

4-7 Initiate As low-level members of ECO, Initiates enjoys some assistance with their magical or psionic training, while having no real involvement with the organization’s activities. Knowledge (Arcana) becomes a trained skill for ECO Initiaties. If it is already a trained skill, you can instead roll it with Advantage when conducting research into magical matters.
8-10 Apprentice Apprentices are more active members of ECO, usually attached to a higher-ranking member that they assist. This grants you a new contact, which is an Adept-rank member of the organization (75% chance to be a mage, 25% chance to be a psion).
11-20 Adept Adepts are mages and psions of proven talent, and are expected to assist their fellow members with their troubles and to support the cause of mage and psion rights. Adepts roll an extra die when spending a Hero point to enhance a Magery or Psionics check, but they still only take the highest result of all the dice they roll when doing so.
21-30 Sage Sages are experienced mages and psions, and are almost always outspoken supporters of mage and psion rights, as well as continued and increased independence for the colonies. When a sage successfully makes a Search Your Feelings check, they grant all allies within line of sight and hearing advantage on their next skill check within the next minute or until the end of the encounter, whichever is longer.
31+ Master Masters are the leaders of ECO, and lead efforts to secure greater independence for off-world colonies, as well as better conditions for mages and psions. Masters have access to a personal aide who is a heroic character with a character level 3 levels lower than the Master.
