TAAF-Standard Manufacture

"TAAF-Standard Manufacture," known in legal parlance as Terran Alliance Armed Forces Authorized Construction Template, is a specification declaring that a component has no designated manufacturer and is instead procured from whoever is the best supplier at any given time. TAAF-Standard Manufacture items are made by a wide range of manufacturers who make the item in question based on blueprints and nanoforge plans maintained and provided by the Terran Alliance Armed Forces Office of Procurement (a division of of Administration).
